This blog is about a teenager named Poppy who lives in a small town in Oklahoma called Pink, and her crazy life
Hey! My name is Poppy and I am 17 years old. I live in Pink, Oklahoma with my older brother, Sage, and my little sister, Ivy. I have had a pretty normal childhood I guess but my story does not really start until I hit 2nd grade.
Why should you keep reading?
- Because you’ll get a new friend… me!
- Because you will learn so really good advice about how to handle some situations as a teen.
- And because having someone else being able to overcome something might help you get over something in your own life
I plan to finally get my story out there and to make sure that I can make a difference with my life and to help others.
To help you get started, here are a few more things for you to know…
- I am blogging publicly because I feel like I have kept to many journals of my thoughts and they need to get out
- I will write about my own experiences, things that I have read, and just rantings of a crazy 17 year old.
- I really hope to connect with someone who truly understands how I feel… I want to find someone who got through something hard and is using that for good.
- If my blog is successful throughout the next year, I hope to have some closer myself and maybe turn this into an ask Poppy column
I want to say thank you if you have made it this far already and I really just hope
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
